This is a 45 hours tutor-led course spread over 6 weeks. This course teaches you how to take the IELTS Academic Module. Even if English is your first language, it is unlikely that you will ace the IELTS unless you are prepared. This course prepares you to do all of this: listen, hear the right answers and write them down, scan through the text and deal with all kinds of questions, write essays, build a speech in your head, avoid traps.

Course Details

The course material is aligned to the IELTS Academic Module. Each week you will practice all IELTS Sections: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. All sections of Speaking, Listening task types, Academic Reading Task types, and Academic Writing task types will be explained and practiced.

Items Covered

Speaking:

Part1: Course prepares you to answer general questions about yourself, your home/family, your job, studies done by you, and a wide range of familiar topic areas.

Part2: You are helped to practice talking on various topics.

Part3: We will equip you with the wherewithal to engage into meaningful conversations.

Listening:

You will be taught how to handle topics concerned with social needs. Both monologue and conversations will be covered. Topics related to education and training will also be practiced. This will include both monologue and conversations.

Academic Reading:

A variety of question types like multiple choices, diagram label completion, classification, matching, choosing suitable paragraph headings from a list, identification of writer's views will be explained and practiced.

Academic Writing:

In the first task you will be explained how to interpret data by looking at a diagram. You will practice organizing, presenting and comparing data. In the second task you will be coached to do the following: present solution to a problem, present and justify an opinion, evaluate ideas, evidence and arguments.

You will be introduced to texts relevant to basic linguistic survival in English, texts focusing on workplace situations, and complex descriptive texts. A variety of question types on the given texts will be practiced.

General Training Writing:

In the first task you will get practice writing letters to request information or explaining a situation. In the second task you will be explained that given a point of view how to present a solution, justify an opinion, and evaluate ideas and evidence.
